Emoji
There are number of emojis are available now a days. And I am going to share that all emoji meanings. An emoji is a small digital image or icon used to express an idea, emotion, or concept in electronic communication. The term “emoji” comes from the Japanese words “e” (picture) and “moji” (character).
Emoji have become popular in modern digital communication, especially in text messaging and social media platforms. They often represent facial expressions, objects, animals, or plants, and are used to convey tone and emotion in a text message or online post. Emoji are widely used and recognized across different cultures and languages, making them a universal form of communication.
History of Emoji
The first emoji was created in 1999 by Shigetaka Kurita, a Japanese designer, who was working on a mobile internet platform. He wanted to add a visual element to the platform’s text-based communication, and so he created a set of 176 simple 12×12 pixel images that included smiley faces, weather symbols, and other simple illustrations. Kurita called his creation “emoji,” which means “picture character” in Japanese.
Emoji became popular in Japan in the early 2000s, and soon spread to other parts of the world with the rise of smartphones and mobile messaging apps. In 2010, Apple introduced emoji to its iOS operating system, which helped popularize them even further. Other tech companies quickly followed suit, and today, emoji are widely used on all major mobile and social media platforms.
In 2015, the Unicode Consortium, which is responsible for standardizing digital text, added a set of 157 new emoji to its official list, bringing the total number of emoji to over 1,000. This made it easier for software developers to include emoji in their products, and ensured that emoji would be consistent across different platforms and devices.
Today, emoji are an important part of digital communication, and are used by millions of people around the world every day. They have also inspired a range of merchandise and even a Hollywood movie.
