Is Acura made by Honda?

Yes, Acura is the luxury vehicle division of Honda Motor Company, a Japanese multinational corporation that is primarily known for producing automobiles, motorcycles, and power equipment. Acura was launched in 1986 as the first Japanese luxury brand and is marketed as Honda’s upscale brand in North America, China, and other markets around the world. Acura vehicles are based on Honda platforms, but they are differentiated by unique styling, features, and performance characteristics that are intended to appeal to buyers seeking a more premium driving experience.

The Acura Vigor was a midsize luxury sedan produced by Acura, Honda’s luxury division, from 1992 to 1994 in the United States and Canada. It was also known as the Honda Vigor in Japan and other markets. The Vigor was positioned in the Acura lineup between the compact Integra and the larger Legend.
The Acura Vigor was available with two engine options: a 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine that produced 176 horsepower and a 2.2-liter inline 5-cylinder engine that produced 145 horsepower. Both engines were paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission. The Vigor was only available with front-wheel drive.
The Vigor was offered in two trims: the base GS and the higher-end LS. Standard features on the GS included power windows and locks, a sunroof, alloy wheels, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The LS added leather seats, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, and a premium Bose stereo.
While the Acura Vigor was praised for its smooth ride, high-quality interior, and innovative features, such as its variable-assist power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, it was not a sales success for Acura. After only two years on the market, the Vigor was discontinued in North America and was replaced by the larger Acura TL.
